Membership in the Association
As members of the association can be accepted: Doctors with an MD degree and a license to practice medicine in Israel. Psychologists with a master's degree and registered in the register of psychologists in the fields of clinical or rehabilitative psychology. Social workers with a master's degree in the therapeutic field. Applicants must have three years of therapeutic experience in their primary profession.
Candidates will be morally flawless and conduct that does not violate the rules of professional ethics.
Applicants must complete at least half of the sexual therapy training program (within the recognized institutions) before beginning the internship.
Applicants will participate in a clinical internship at a clinic for the treatment of sexual dysfunction, which has been approved by the association's central committee.
During the internship, the intern will diagnose and treat at least 40 cases, of which 5 are in couple sexual therapy according to the diagnoses:
The intern will make an entry in the specialization book, of the details of the cases (a name and a name that is reduced in first letters) and the diagnosis, the duration of the treatment and the result. Each of the treated cases will be approved with the signature of a certified guide. When applying, the intern will attach the internship booklet.
During the internship, the intern must receive guidance from the members of the association who have been authorized to do so by the Central Committee. The instruction will be given by at least two certified instructors. An intern must accumulate at least 200 hours of instruction, half of which is performed in an approved public clinic, and at least 30 hours of instruction for a guide.
An updated list of guides will be published by the Central Committee each year.
ITAM friend
Depending on the goals of the association, ITM members, professionals in education, counseling or sexual research who are interested in the field of human sexuality may be accepted as associate members. An accompanying member is not a sexual therapist recognized by ITM. The written application includes the resume and recommendations of two members of the Sexual Care Association. An
accompanying member will pay an annual membership fee as determined by the Central Committee.
The ethical guidelines as detailed in the regulations also apply to friends of ITM.
ITM may participate in the association's activities such as: seminars, seminars and conferences of the association.
The friend will be on the list of the association's mail recipients. The
friend does not have voting rights in the association.
The Central Committee or its representative may decide in special cases that one of the above conditions (excluding condition A) be considered fulfilled when it comes to candidates who are members and certified in a professional association for sexual therapy abroad that grants treatment based on similar criteria to the association.
At the time of the founding of the association, special transitional conditions were set for receiving friends. These conditions are detailed in the appendix to the regulations and will be valid for one year from the date of registration of the association as an association (Appendix A).
Those who want to be accepted as members of the association, must perform the following actions:
A. Fill out an application form and sign it.
B. Sign a statement in the following wording: "I declare that I am aware of the regulations of the Israeli Association for Sexual Therapy and I undertake to comply with them."
third. Sign on the application form two members of the association who will testify by signing them, if they know the candidate as a person without moral defects.
D. Submit the application form signed as above with the statement, certificate and other documents (+2 photographs) to the Secretary of the Central Committee.
God. Pay a registration fee in an amount determined by the Central Committee (payment will not be refunded in case of non-receipt). The
Central Committee will check the documents attached to the application form. If the re-launch does not inform the members of the opposition's acceptance of the candidate, the committee will notify the candidate of its acceptance.
In the event of doubt on the part of the members for the acceptance of the candidate for membership, following the launch of the above material, the Central Committee will submit the matter for clarification to the Chairman of the Inquiry Committee. The Committee of Inquiries shall submit its conclusions to the decision of the Central Committee.
A candidate who is not accepted as a member, may apply again only one year after the date of receipt of the notice of non-acceptance as a member of the association.
Honorable friend
As an honorary member of the association, everyone who the association recognizes in its important actions for the advancement of sexology and who it finds worthy of this honor is elected. Honorary members are unanimously elected at the National General Assembly. Honorary members living in the State of Israel are invited to all the activities of the association.
